ZURCONITE SOCIETY STRUCTURE
Generals • Priests • Scientists • Elders • Citizens • Social order • Rivalries • How each class serves the Triad
Zurconite civilisation is extremely hierarchical, rigid, ceremonial, and loyal to the Triad. Every class exists to uphold the meaning of the Primogram.
This section defines the five major societal classes and the political tensions shaping Zurconite history — including the crisis triggered by the Universal Supreme Leader’s return.
OVERVIEW OF SOCIAL ORDER
Zurconite society is structured like the Primogram itself:
• Top Circle → The Triad
• Left & Right Circles → Priestly & Military Power
• Vertical Bar → All supporting classes beneath the rulers
Everything flows from the circles down into the bar.
Everything in the bar exists to serve the circles.
The Triad Rulers (Royal Lineage)
Not a class — a divine caste.
Only three living Zurconites hold this status:
• The Universal Supreme Leader
• His Glorious Divine Benevolence, The Leader
• Her Glorious Serene Benevolence, The Leader
Their word is cosmic law.
Roles:
• Define doctrine
• Command all classes
• Represent the three cosmic forces: Origin, Action, Balance
• Authorise treaties with alien civilisations
• Select high priests, generals, and scientific directors
The Triad does not govern day-to-day life.
They dictate destiny, not logistics.
The Priestly Order (Order of the Primogram)
Second only to the Triad, the Priests are the interpreters of the Astral Doctrine and custodians of the Triad’s spiritual authority.
Their Duties
• Maintain temples, ritual chambers, and the central Hall of Circles
• Translate Primogramic symbols and doctrines
• Conduct public ceremonies
• Educate youth in doctrine
• Advise rulers on spiritual interpretation
• Approve marriages and births
• Oversee Primogramic Judgement courts
Their Power
The priests influence:
• Doctrine
• Law
• Culture
• Ceremony
• Social discipline
Their Rivalries
They clash with:
• Scientists (logic vs faith)
• Generals (order vs power)
Their Fear
The Universal Supreme Leader’s return threatens centuries of adjustments they made to the doctrine during his absence.
This makes the priesthood ideologically unstable.
The Generals (High Command of the Bar)
The Generals lead the Zurconite military:
• Infantry legions
• Orbital defense rings
• Strategic command fleets
• The elite Triad Guard (personal protectors of the rulers)
Their Duties
• Maintain planetary order
• Defend the homeworld from cosmic threats
• Enforce doctrine through strength
• Escort the Triad during public appearances
• Lead First Contact protocols with other worlds
Their Power
They command:
• Armies
• Fleets
• Surveillance systems
• Martial law authority in emergencies
Their Rivalries
They collide with:
• Priests (interpretation vs enforcement)
• Scientists (conservatism vs innovation)
Their Fear
Loyalty is split:
• Some generals are loyal to the young rulers
• Some are loyal to the father
This creates the seeds of civil conflict.
The Scientists (The Luminary Circle)
The intellectual elite of Zurconite civilisation.
Creators of advanced technology and custodians of logic.
Their Duties
• Develop spacecraft, energy systems, and medical technologies
• Study cosmic phenomena
• Maintain planetary infrastructure
• Interpret Primogramic geometry mathematically
Their Power
They shape:
• Industry
• Technology
• Scientific doctrine
• Interplanetary innovation
Their Rivalries
Their logic-driven worldview clashes with:
• Priests (religion vs science)
• Generals (restrictions vs militarisation)
Their Fear
The father’s return means:
• Outdated doctrines may be reinstated
• Scientific freedoms may be restricted
• All projects must serve a more authoritarian vision
The Elders (Council of Memory)
Oldest living Zurconites.
Keepers of oral history and cross-generational memory.
Their Duties
• Preserve pre-doctrine cultural memories
• Advise rulers on long-term societal consequences
• Maintain archives
• Conduct generational ceremonies
Their Power
They influence:
• Tradition
• Culture
• Long-term planning
Their Rivalries
They distrust:
• Scientists (too disruptive)
• Generals (too aggressive)
• Priests (too manipulative)
Their Fear
The father’s return reminds them of old eras of strict obedience they survived once before.
The Citizens (The Bar Itself)
The vast population — the foundation of the Triad society.
Their Duties
• Support all higher classes
• Follow doctrine
• Work trade, industry, culture, education, and infrastructure roles
• Participate in ceremonies
• Serve mandatory cycles in military or priestly service
Their Fear
The return of the Universal Supreme Leader threatens:
• Stability
• The younger rulers they adore
• Their freedoms under new doctrine interpretations
